The rifle sling normally used for carrying the rifle can be used easily to improve your accuracy offhand. Without using pictures it may be hard to understand my instructions but I will attempt to be clear. 1. No adjustment of the sling is needed from the usual carrying position. 2. With the rifle pointed toward the sky, sights to the right, run the left upper arm between the sling and the stock to position the sling near the left armpit. 3. Cross the left hand over the the sling in a manner that will have the sling flat on the back of the left hand while the left hand is holding the rifle forearm. 4. It is simple to make this configuration as tight or loose as desired. 5. With the body approximately 45 degrees facing away from the target, use the right hand to position the buttplate into the pocket of the shoulder. 6. With the left arm snug in the sling lower the muzzle to the target. A little practice will make getting into the sling properly automatic. You will feel the solidity of the position and can increase pressure as desired. The left elbow will be pointing toward the ground and almost under the rifle stock. If my instructions are unclear ask questions. I know this little trick could help many hunters more accurate and enable them to shoot with more confidence. Ozark
