Pros or cons? I am thinking about getting one in 20 ga.

The only issue I know about is the gas piston spring has a tendency to break in the 12 ga. I have a Browning Silver and it is the same design. Google gas piston spring problems Browning Gold and decide. I lube mine sparingly with CLP and have replaced the spring with a solid aluminum block--works great.

I think it's a close relation to the Browning Gold, which is good. I never had any problem with my 12 ga Gold, just keep it clean & lightly lubed. I have a 20 ga Browning Gold but it's in reserve, still NIB.

I had a SX3 in 12ga with a rifled barrel. I liked it and shot it a good amount. Never really found a slug that would shoot as good as I wanted it to. It cycled reliably with everything I put down it.

the SX3 is basically the same gun as a gold since they are both from the same parent company. they are good guns for the most part and I think they handle well, I have been looking for one myself If I can find a steal on one but if I have to go with a new one I will spring for a Maxis.
I have two of the old sx 1s from the 70s and there is still not a gun out there built like them. one I bought new in 75 when I was 15 and it has had cases and cases of shells put through it with never a malfunction. if the new ones were built like the old tanks I would go buy one in a heartbeat..

Seems to be the case, newer isn't always better. More often it's just made cheaper with added camo, then they make it sound better. Most of the new stuff seems to have more plastic.
