This is Casey a female pup I kept from the Boone X Katie cross. She is just shy of 6 mos old and turning the corner and turning the crank! There was 6 in this litter and 4 were treeing their own game by 4 mons old and all were treeing by 6 mos old! A powerful cross no doubt. I made the cross again as a result and ole Katie girl is due to drop pups Jan. 19th.I hope she has a big pile of them! From the way she is looking this could happen. I did not have enough pups to go around the first time. The rifle in the picture is Rugers completely new Ruger American .22. Unusual for a production run .22 it is pillared. It also uses 10/22 magazines and is also has the traditional 3/8 grooved rail plus it is drilled and tapped. I went with Talley light weight 2 piece mounts. It also comes with 2 stock inserts...a low comb for iron sights as well as a high comb for scope usage. It also sports a bolt quick release which is unsual as well. A well thought out rifle design! Kudos to Ruger! It is also available in a 18 in compact version. I have been killing the heck out of coons and squirrel with it!

Tar12: I really would like to hear more about how your dog progresses so keep on posting. I just looked at your posting time, insomnia or is that just a normal work day?

Perhaps at some time but not right now. Hopefully in the future I will be living at the farm and then would seriously consider it, I just do not want to have a hunting dog in town. We had a border collie when I was a kid that would tree fox squirrels. I know that is not the breed for that but she did a good job. I loved that dog as a kid, we did alot of hunting together. Every time I was out doors with a firearm, which was alot, she was eager to go. Miss those days and dog.
