I can't even find if this was ever offered but if anyone ever sees a Browning 1885 Hi Wall in .375 Winchester, Not 375H&H I would love to purchase it.
I can't seem to find any of the 1885, high walls in .375 Winchester or Ruger #1's. I can find Ruger #3's but they don't interest me as much.
I can find some .375 Winchester in lever guns but again I am really wanting a single shot rifle.
Thanks

The Ruger #3 in .375 Winchester is a rare bird, I think they only offered them one year. The .375 came out in like 1978 and Ruger ended the production of the #3 in 1980 IIRC. The #3 is just a plain-jane version of the #1 with a different stock and lever. I do not think the #1 was ever offered in .375. Winchester chambered the "Big Bore 94" in .375 when it came out in 1978 and stopped producing it in the late 80s. I think Marlin and Savage chambered some of their lever guns in the past for it. Most of the high-walls and Sharps go with the more "traditional" 38-55 which is actually longer then the .375 but a lot weaker. Both MGM and Bullberry have Encore barrels in .375, a few people around here have already ordered. Someone was told that Gander Mountain or Cabelas was making a deal to get a batch of Bergara .375 Win and .357 Mag barrels (plus a ton more 45-70) for the Apex, Optima and T/C by the end of September just for Ohio shooters.
Everybody ask why I ain't jumping on the PCRs. A .375 pumping out a 220gr bullet at 2300fps is tempting but you would have to reload to get the higher BC bullets. I shoot a 250gr out of my 10ML .50 at close to 2400 and I'm MOA or less so I'm happy. Even a .357 Max shooting the higher BC .358 rifle bullets or the FTXs don't really thrill me. I might build a .375 or a 357 Max for the grandkids or the women in the family. The Max would be easy on H&R Handi-rifle. I would probly go Encore for a .375 if I was doing it now. Then again Luke's 310gr APB pumped out of a #1 in 45-70 at about 2400-2500fps would be very interesting but not for weak shoulders.

Rossman, correct me if this doesn't apply, but doesn't H&R make single shot Handi rifles in IIRC, 44 mag, 460 S&W and 500 S&W, if correct all would make good 100-125 yard deer rifles, especially the 460 S&W would work to 200 yards, that is according to S&W.
Being a single shot should be just what you're looking for in a affordable OTC Ohio legal deer rifle, IF the new regs you speek of are made law.

I set up a .357 maximum for my daughter-in-law to hunt with during the Ohio deer gun season. H110, 20 gr, 180 gr. SSP bullet, around 2000 FPS, 1" high at 100, zero 155. She shot a young 8 point on Tuesday evening at 127 yds. perfect shot behind the shoulder, entry and exit hole, deer went about 35 yds, lungs were gone. She loves the H&R Handi Rifle, very little recoil, extremely accurate, kills deer just fine. She is happy, I am happy
