A nice mess of morels. Between fishing, hunting and gathering your food budget should be minimal. Good eating.

Quentin has had some R&R time.He has made the most of it.So far he has tallied up 260 shrooms and 86 white bass and counting. ;D Keep um coming jr.!

While growing up the morel mushroom was the only type we knew that was safe to eat. So, when the first warm rain in April came it was gathering time. Several names were used for these in the Ozarks. "Dryland fish, Hickory chickens were the most commonly used name. Mom would split them, soak them overiight in salt water and then using butter to cook them in. Mighty fine eating. I could use a good mess of them right now. Thanks for the pictures. Ben

Zen, they have any morels around here? Haven't seen any up here at all. They always seemed to around oaks when I lived in MO. Ain't no oaks up here to speak of Wayles
