I am very interested in purchasing a Savage 212. I would prefer to shoot the Federal Trophy Copper slugs in it hoping to achieve the same terminal performance of the old Barnes slugs. Had anyone tried the 212/TC combination? I'd also like to hear from anyone with a 212 shooting other slugs. Thanks

Buddy has one. His likes the 3" Accutips real well. Not sure hea tried much else, he tried some of my accutips and was satisfied with them so that's the route he went.

How are the Accutips performing on deer? I've heard they're not expanding well. I always had great results with the Barnes slugs. Thanks for the info

Great for me, I won't use anything else. I have a 26" barrel, I believe I get a lil more velocity than most (vs normal 20 - 22" guns) and that could make a difference, idk for sure, but I do know, when I pull the trigger, the deer drop. Much better than the old core loct's, and Win partition golds that always penciled thru. I've had 0 track jobs using Accutips and only 1 deer has even taken a step.

Which gun are you shooting with the 26" barrel? I'm guessing Ithica?
