Hey guys my friend recently got a 20 gauge Remington 1100. It is NOT the "LT" model. It is a standard weight. He wanted a Remington factory fully rifled cantilever slug barrel but I cannot find one and I don't think Remington ever made one. Is that correct? I did find that Hasting's did make a fully rifled cantilever 20 gauge barrel for the Rem 1100 and we might go with that but that is not our preference. Also I have not been able to even find a Factory Remington fully rifled/rifle sighted barrel that would fit on a 20 gauge 1100 and I am wondering if Remington ever even offered a fully rifled slug barrel for a 20 gauge 1100. Any body have any insight into this? I did find a nice Factory Remington 20 gauge 1100 barrel but it was rifle sights/smooth bore.
Also one more question, He was told that 20 gauge Remington 1100 shotguns that had "LT" marked barrels and/ or receivers were different then standard weight Remington 1100's and that the barrels would not interchange. Is that correct information? Once again I thank any and all for any insight they can provide on these questions.
Thanks Rman

I don't know all the details, I did think the 'LT' was different. The folks at shotgunworld.com would know all the particulars. As always I'd compare $$ spent of upgrades with the cost of a different complete gun.
If you are able to find a Hastings rifled slug barrel that is made for that gun I'd consider going with that. I have one on a Browning Gold & it works just fine.

LT-20, 20 gauge 2-3/4" lightweight barrels will not fit pre-1977 20 gauge lightweight or standard 20 gauge Model 1100 shotguns

I ran into this when looking for one for my dad. He got lucky. I found him a Hastings barrel. This barrel is for the current M-1100 LT-20, and will not fit pre-1977 standard weight 20 ga model 1100 shotguns. It will not fit 20ga guns with a serial numbers ending with N and X. I "think" if it ends in K or U you are money. Their website is confusing cause it shows none of the letters fitting. Also you have to be able to get a quarter thru the ring that slides over the magazine tube. The tang on the barrel that slides in the receiver needs to be a certain length but I cant remember, like 1.25". Biggest thing is serial number. Hastings is the only fully rifled barrel I could find. Best bet is call them. Great barrel IF it will work. Jr
