reloading manual and willing to look and see if a load combo exists in their manual? If so, I am looking for .243 Winchester cartridge, 80 grain Hornady GMX bullets and Hodgdon Hybrid 100V powder. Is this combo published?
edited for the correct bullet weight.

Thanks deadeye. I have been reloading for a few years but I have never tried any loads that were not published. Please educate me...how do I proceed in a safe manner without a published load range for my specific powder & bullet combo?

Please educate me...how do I proceed in a safe manner without a published load range for my specific powder & bullet combo? your powder hybrid 100v is listed for .243 in the bullet weight you desire according to hodgdon. pick a bullet that is similiar in construction & always start with starting load(low) & work up to an accuracy load. in this case start approx 38.3gns

I have always been a "by the book" re-loader but I know many do step outside the book and experiment. Looking at Hodgdon's site I'm guessing you are talking about the load data for the Barnes 85 gr TSX correct?

Geesh I feel really stoooopid now. I started looking around Hodgdon's site at different loads and found a 80 gr GMX, HMMMM, so I looked on Hornady's site and sure enough, no 85 grain made, just 80 grain. For some reason I had it in my head that it was 85 grain Looks like I am good to go!!

yes i noticed that also- remember a manual is a guideline with a sampling of tested powders/bullets in their labratory,by all means not complete.
