:)thanks guys for all your kind words. This guy I took with my tarhunt using the hornady sst slugs. 60yrd shot 18"s straight down. He came in on my right and made it very difficult for me. It took 15 minutes to get from one side of the tree to the other for the shot. The monkey is off my back now so now I can enjoy some stress free hunting for a while.

Thats a very nice buck Dave, glad you got him. Also looks like from the top picture there might have been a doe runnin with him that did not make it also. Glad you are having such a nice season after all the tough times you had during Hurricane Sandy.

It's tuff in 'Jersey to get a great buck like that !!! They are not behind every tree. If you can do it in 'Jersey you can do it anywhere ! mrbuck ( another 'Jersey shooter/ hunter )

Congtats and YES you have the right idea about passing on smaller bucks, the number one thing deer need for decent horn size is AGE...I try to stress that when ever I can, I wish more people would hunt with that type of attitude, and there is also nothing wrong with taking a few does out of an area either...CONGRATS

Nice job on the "tagwich" in years prior. Its the only way to get a big one by letting small ones get there. It can be years of "tagwiches" before I get a shot at a really good one. Not only do the small ones get big when you pass on them, but you are still out there with a chance at a big one. Just simple odds. I am at the point where I ask myself if I will regret shooting a buck rather than regret not shooting it. Nice job!
