I haven't reloaded for awhile -- to give an example, the last time I reloaded I bought 100 lbs of Hevi shot for $60 for 10 pounds when a guy told me the price was about to skyrocket. Anyway, we are loading for geese with 10 gauge, using about 2 oz Hevi shot loads of B or 2 shot. I just noticed I ran out of Blue Dot powder. What type of magnum powder should I use? Also, back when we were last reloading we were just cutting down the plastic on the shells to match our load, then putting on a roll crimp over little paper circle. Is that a bad way to reload? I know it is not great for reusing the shells. Is putting a bit of wax on top to water-seal a bad thing?

Hard to beat Bluedot althou some claim it's no good in cold weather, I have never had a popper in 12ga or 10ga down to -10*. Hodgdon has some data with Longshot which is on my list to try sometime. Looked like they use filler wads to bring the shot up to crimp level which might be a option to trimming and roll crimping. I was told once to get ahold of these guys for steel reloading www.bucksrunsports.com/ which again is on my to-do list someday!!!
