I have three sidelocks I shoot BP in so I keep Goex 2F , 3F and 4F .
Use the 2F in a TC Rengade 50 . Use the 3F in a 40 GM barrel for the Renegade , my original 36 cal halfstock Kentucky and a 32 caliber FL squirrel rifle .
And of course the 4F is only used for priming the 32 squirrel rifle .
So what do you guys that shoot ALOT of flintlock use ?
By use I mean do you use Goex powder or Swiss or Wano or Elephant or what ?

There use to be a guy that hunted North of me during ML season with a flinter with what I suspected was pyrodex. You couldn't mistake the sound, PHTTT-BOOM. The guy shot like 3 times a day, he ether had them stacked up like cordword or missed everytime.

4F Goex for primer and 2F Triple Seven for muzzle. The 2F was given to me along with some 3F so why let it go to waste.

basspastor, from what I've heard T-7 is hard to ignite and might not work so well in a side lock. even with caps I've heard some had problems with hang fires and no boom.

I tried Triple 7 pellets for awhile in both my 45 and 50 Disc Rifles and never got the consitant accuracy I got with Triple 7 granulated FFFg . But then all the Triple 7 I have used has been lit with a 209 primer and not a #11 cap .

Incidently I have 5 rifles I'm shooting BP in now ! My old original 36 caliber A.B. Smith percussion rifle , an old S.B. Martin 42 caliber target rifle and my 3 Contemporary Flinters . So now I keep Goex 2F , 3F and 4F on my shelf ! That way EVRYTHING's covered

I loaded with 2FF triple 7 Saturday afternoon and had Goex 4-f in the pan. Well, I left my Carbine loaded overnight at the Deer lease and when I went to shoot it Sunday the Goex 4-f says pppssttt, no boom. I quickly reloaded the pan and pulled the trigger and I had a big boom so in this high humidity country where I live I aleast no to empty pan and put in fresh powder the next morning.
