I took a friend out hunting last night or should I say this morning. I spotted these 3 hogs in a small herd of 8 as they were feeding on some peanuts about 300 yds away. There was a nice crosswind so we walked down and around them so we would be more downwind. We finally positioned ourselves directly downwind and we stalked up to within 70 yds of the small herd. As we were fine tuning our trigger sticks I noticed the bigger one had lifted up her head and was starring right at us. She was on high alert. My buddy whispered that he was good to go so I started the 3-2-1-0 countdown. When 0 was said the Grendel took action into it own hand and she sent that 123gr A-Max bullet into the head of that alerted sow. Yep, your right, she dropped like a sack of tators. My buddy on the otherhand doesn't have very good luck shooting live game standing still. He missed the one hog that he shot at, but he redeemed himself after all hell broke loose. He downed the smaller one of the 3 as it was trying to exit the field. In the meantime the Grendel set its sites on the second largest target and down she went face first as she plowed through the peanut rows.
I also spotted this boar in a different field while it was rooten away at a few rows of peanuts. Again we stalked up within 70 yds or so and did the countdown. This time both rifles went off together an down to the ground this guy went.
On this yote, I had a beggin pig call going off on my Fox Pro box. I was curious if any hogs would come out of the woodline that we was on. Low and behold here comes this yote coming right to the call. I let my buddy shoot solo on this set because I was playin with the call remote. Sure enough when that dog stopped my buddy missed it. Off to the races this yote went and again, like the hog, he redeemed himself by knocking that yote down while running. We sure had a great time. Hope you enjoy the pics
