I'm going to order some powder tubes and want to know which are better - Lane's or the ones from Luke? I haven't used either. I will end up carrying a few in my pocket when hunting so it's important they stay sealed if they get bumped around. Also, what do you store them in? I thought I saw where someone was using a cartridge box but I can't remember which tubes that was for and which box? And do I want the longer tubes or are the short ones enough?

I have not used Luke's tubes but i do use Lane's and am very happy with them. They have caps that screw on and the caps come in a few different colors.

Primarily smokeless, but they may pull double duty and carry some BH209.

For smokeless I use a 300WSM case with a 5/16 carb/manifold vacuum plug it looks like a nipple you can go to Napa and buy them in a pack I have also used 45/70 cases with rubber plugs from the hardware store for BH209 I use the tubes from western powders.

I like the 5ml tubes that Chuck41 sells for my main smokeless loads. I also use 2ml tubes for my booster loads that are sold on Ebay by a fellow that goes by "qualityfragranceoils918". Both 5 and 2ml have screw-on caps that won't make a mess in your vest like the ones with a push-in stoppers will sooner or later. I tape the two tubes side by side with the caps on opposing ends. Makes for a quick non-confusing load that won't spill or jingle in your pocket. "little tube in first-- larger tube in last". The small booster load tubes sell for $4/20. Can't beat 'em!

The female type plugs I use on the 300WSM cases wont come off but on the 45/70 male type plugs I never had it happen but could see that it could so that's why I switched.
