And the winner is ... Steel loads

Well the seasons over for me this year, there is a few days left but I'm out of shells I had around 500 3" and 200 3 1/2" and maybe 100 2 3/4" shells loaded for me and the boy. Looks like I could have used a few more but now they will be fresh for the next round. I did some experimenting this year but I came up with some defiant winners. My boys 1100 with his new choke seam to pattern as well as my 870 with the winners. His is only 2 3/4 and 3 Mine will go to 3 1/2. Here is what we are going to go with:

2 3/4" 12 gauge 1 oz Steel shot, Fiocchi hull 616 primer / Multi metal hull / over shot card, 8 point fold no buffer and
34 gr steel powder
This load was a bit of a surprise, It works very well on all ducks and will kill very clean in #2's out to over 45 yards.

3" 12 gauge 1 -1/4 oz steel, Fiocchi hull 616 primer/ VP-70 wad / 6 gr buffer/over shot card/ 8 point fold and 32 gr steel powder
This was a goto load for pass shooting large ducks with #2 or #1

3" 12 gauge 1- 1/8 oz steel, Fiocchi hull 616 primer/ turkey ranger wad/ 6 gr buffer/over shot card/ 8 point fold 39.5 oz steel powder Fantastic for geese in #b and #BB

3” 12 gauge 1- 1/8 oz Duplex steel, Fiocchi hull 616 primer/ turkey ranger wad/6 gr buffer/ ½ &1/2 shot/over shot card/ 8 point fold 35 gr steel powder
This one is the work horse, I'll load 75% this load this year,in #2X#B and #1 x #BB, There a duck,goose killing masters!!

I'll use this one when I feel I need just a little MORE. Great In very large shot Like #1 and #BBB
