In my condition it is often that people will tell me that I will be put on a prayer list or that "I will be praying for you." My usual answer is: Thanks, I can use all the help I can get. But let me share how this strikes me and what I believe may be a much better way to put this comment. Some, in fact several, asks if there is anything they can do to make things easier for me. If I memtion that there is nothing that needs done they sometimes say: " Let me know if there is something i can do, in the meantime you will be in my prayers. For me the whole thing just seems more sincere if at first they ask what they as individuals can do. I challenge you all to first offer youself as Gods servent and if you can't help seek his intervention. I know I am a baby chicken raised by a mama duck and that all my sisters and brothers quack and I alone pepe. Ozark

I didn't mean to offend anyone. And I am not lookin for help from anyone. Maybe it is so easy for God to do it all that human help isn't needed.

"to first offer youself as Gods servent and if you can't help seek his intervention." Sounds fair. You know, I never understood what good prayer was, but the infrequent times I pray, I do feel better. As to what direct effect it has, who knows? But maybe it heightens the senses, and connects us subconscously to the other world, and thus could lead to better outcomes in a bad situation. My friend, the old man across the street had a big dizzy spell this morning. We have very slow ambulance response out here, so I told his wife to let me know if she needs me- specifically for a medical emergency, which she understood that's what I meant without saying it. Anyway I will keep my first aid kit and stethoscope etc. available in case. I will pray shortly for good judgment if I do have to help out. In other words to have God's help. The older we get the more people we see pass away, but it doesnt get any easier. I am thankful for the beautiful weather we are having in upstate N.Y.

There is an all seeing eye watching. I cannot judge but I get the feeling that He approves. I had some chest pains (maybe caused by gas) today. I do what I can to get relief but I trust God to handle what I can't. Ozark

I sure would like to see the tally of prayers offered as opposed to prayers rendered. I believe that prayer is very powerful. God can and does intervene but God also releases His power when two or more are gathered in His name. When Christian men and women humble themselves to the point of allowing the love of Christ to flow outwardly there will always be change. Love isn't just a feeling......it is an action. Just to say that I will pray for you without actively showing love in any tangible way is suspect. However it is also important to remember that even Christians are fallible and have faults that we, as children of the living God, must be willing to forgive and overlook.
