Well, doesn't look like I'll get another crack at the one I missed out on last year. Pretty sure this is the same one. Landowner got it with his bow yesterday. Here's the picture I snapped with my cell phone of him last year while my gun was back in the truck. EHD hit the farm pretty hard this year too, so it could be pretty slim pickings come December.

I've heard that some counties have had seen hundreds of EHD deer. Where we're at in southern Iowa, there have been little or no EHD cases.

The county map I saw only had 18 reported for that county. So, obviously, a lot aren't getting reported. I don't think any of the southern counties were completely free, but I think it was Madison & Warren (two very good big buck counties) that were hit hardest. Last I saw, they had 400+ cases reported in each of those counties.

Luke, I heard that the DNR wasn't reporting the information they were receiving because they didn't believe the information they were getting. What I heard was that the numbers are a lot higher than they are letting people know. Kinda like there are no mountain lions in Iowa even though they reported some on the news a while back because it was hit by a car just outside of Harlan. Either way my heart goes out for you Luke, good luck this season!! RR
