Two real pretty and healthy looking dogs.
Bet the whining to get out and hunt starts soon if it hasn’t already. They always seem to know when that time approaches.

Ed This line of dogs are hard wired for hunting and are ready at the drop of a hat. "Q'"will rack a shotgun in the gun room just to get a reaction out of Katie. She fires off immediately! ;D They go from couch potato's to killers in instant! ;D I love it!

Tar12
My now deceased Shadow was somewhat the same way when I went to the gun room in the Fall. He would just shake with excitement and seeing the body language always warmed my heart. He also knew when we were near a body of water ducks were our goal and watched the skyline and in the field he would scour the terrain for pheasants.
But come Spring or Summer he would just somewhat ignore my trip to the gun room and sort of give me that one-eye glance just to make sure he wasn’t going to miss something.
Today I still miss my hunting buddy when Fall arrives but cherish the memories we made from our adventures in the field.

I hunt my dogs year round. They never know when we are going and are always ready. ;D I have had dogs as far back as I can remember. They have always been a big part of my life. I will never be with out them. I can set and let my mind drift back to days gone by and I remember the name of every single one of them. There is a bond between a man and his dog that is hard to explain to non dog people.

Yeah tar, but father time will tell you when to let them all be memories. Yes, in my minds eye and ear I can hear the trails warm up and that long lonesome locating bawl drift into an acorn shaking chop and that great feeling that the dog has had success and now its time to go do your part. I have followed a lot of dogs, rabbit dogs, squirrel dogs, coon dogs and many I would have to call useless. But to own a truly great hunting dog makes it easy to cull many which are not.Ozark.
