Today a friend brought a new Marlin .243 for me to look at. I was surprised at the features. It had a accu-trigger, safety much like a Remington. A bolt release button and a barrel nut similar to a Savage. The stock had deep pressed checkering and overall the rifle looked pleasing. He said it shot real good. It looked like they had selected all the features they liked from other brands and put them all in their Marlin. I believe he paid $299. Ozark

Those are some fine little rifles at any price. Light weight and extremely accurate. I worked up a load for one in 25-06 and it took one try. I loaded 10 shots, went out and sighted it in with the first five, noting that every shot fired responded perfectly to the scope adjustments, then fired a 5 shot .65" group after it cooled. I may have just gotten lucky but I stopped right there with that load. had the velocity I wanted, and was as accurate as I could ever ask for from a gun which together with scope and rings cost less than 400 dollars, I would have done the same if it had been over a thousand and been happy with it.

I have one in 270. Accurate as crap. I have 5 other 270's in the safe, and this thing outshoots all of em. Kinda puts a $1000 dallar rifle to shame when a $300 rifle outshoots em.

m off hand. That has been hard for me to find in a bolt action rifle of any variety. They definitely found a formula that works. Every one I have read about shoots that well. long as they keep the qa in check they will have a winner.
