I'm the undecided one only because of my newness to the smokeless game. My ml1 .50 I got from Dave D. is awesome I have killed two deer with it this year at bow hunting ranges so I really haven't seen its true capabilities other than being reliable , I left a load in for three weeks with no problem killing the next deer that came by. As for the pacnor .45 I have a 700ml that someday will be pacnor equipped. Then I can have two smokeless wimmen for whatever mood or hunting situation that I may have, lol. Great Forum Guys and thanks for all the help and wisdom. Tighter groups for all, GreenHorn

I need 50 cal in Colorado for elk as its the min required for elk, and I've loaned guns several times. I will never loan a 45 but I will loan a 50, as I feel the sabot game is familiar to most, Ray

Mike, there was a time when I was totally satisfied with a Bushnell Banner. It did everything I wanted a scope to do, but then got a 4200. Poor Banner is now a shelf queen. There was a time when I was pretty much satisfied with the Encore 209x50 (aside from the smoke obscuring the deer just shot), but then went to the 10MLII. The 209x50 is now a case queen. There was a time when I was tickled pink with the .50 10MLII, but then got the PN45. The .50 barrel just sits around and is used only for comparisons. You probably have already guessed the point being made. If you are now satisfied, DO NOT get a .45 PacNor barrel!! ;D ;D And then I got a 40...

I sort of went ML10-2 nuts! Converted my original to a P-N 45, and bought 2 50s from board members. I'll probably convert one of the 50s to 45 at some point, but not in a big hurry. Boarhog

I went to Harrisburg sportsman ;Dshow and put it to the savage rep. asked about the ML II and was told there was no money in it for them. I then brought up the prices on gun broker and was told that's why the last run. I then asked why not a 45, that would be a money maker. He ,The Rep. looked gut punched, and said they never consider a 45 ( to bad) I said give the people what they want and they will buy it!

After Savage decided to drop the ML I suggested to savage that they offer a ML barrel as either a combo or just as a drop-in with a stock with a bull barrel channel. IMO, if they did that they would have the potential to sell to all previous owners of Savage rifles. They thanked me but I got the impression that they were not interested. Perhaps EABCO might be interested edge.

I have been considering going with a 40 cal, instead of 45, for my 2nd conversion. Pac-Nor's dropping the DD style 40 has me wondering how to go about it? BH

BH I think I would ask if they would make one with no guarantee. It is just a 408 Winchester barrel. That is what I asked RB to make me and told him that I'd take the risk about bore size. Turned out perfect as slight knurling worked perfectly. All the rest is history. Not that this will impact PacNor's thinking. I'd just ask for a non-guarantee 16 twist 40 cal threaded for a Sav breechplug. As far as I know there was just one barrel made that received complaints and it is currently being tested but I've read no results yet.

Tar12 I am not giving the barrel away, but I am also not offering it for sale. I like it and I plan to keep it. I am also an acquirer/hoarder. When it comes to guns or gun parts I almost never get rid of them. My kids will hate me when I die, they will have no clue what everything is. ;D I think I will just will it to you and your children, it would be easier that way.
