I shot some of these Tuesday and was quite impressed. 1-1/4@150 with 69gn. IMR4198. I am almost positive they are Parker BE 275s. Does anyone know for sure? Its quite a bit cheaper for the Parker's but I can have the furys in a day. Btw, Loving My savage. I took seven with it Monday and Tuesday from 20-248 yds.. ;D I wasn't to impressed with BOs because several ran with shots in the pocket but when hit with the fury I think they were flopping over dead before I felt recoil.....cool. Anyway, good luck hunters and I can't wait to start smoking em with a 45.

I shoot the 200SST and the 195 Barnes now in my 45 Pac with great result from both, along with the 200XTP in my sons 50 @1850fps with good performance from all three. The BOs always penciled through unless heavy bone was hit.

Never went through shoulders with the fury, but there would be two or three ribs missing on each side and jello for heart and lungs. One of the guys I hunt with has shot them for a couple years and only had two of twelve run after the shot, that's at 2000 fps though. We have five more weeks to hunt so ill keep you posted on performance. This weekend I'm headed to the U.P. with my five year old for his first deer camp with grandpops and the uncles so ill be totin my 308 and giving my musket a break. It deserves it

I wouldnt excactly say that the BO pencils through. A 3/4-1in hole in and 1.5 -2in hole out is a pretty good drain hole! You will not like the 195 grn barnes in a .45 as it does the same thing. Thats what I want. Least amount of damage possible. The performance between the 300 grn BO and the 195 grn barnes is almost identical.BTW,the 300 grn XTP will do what the Parker does terminally and a lot cheaper...

Not sure what the glory is all about with bang-flops...but if you must have them, a "pencil hole" that gets the shoulder joint, bottom of spine and top of lungs will do it too every time. The tougher bullet will also give double drainage every time like Tar said. Double drainage and punctured lungs/hearts are a deers worst nightmare
I always imagined that the guys that love to flatten deer in their tracks do not like bow hunting very much.
I do see the occasional need for dropping deer in their tracks....like if the deer is one step from a property line that is out-of-bounds...or if the deer is about to cross a fast moving river. However, deer with holes in their lungs and/or heart have seconds to live in most cases.
And Tar is correct, all the thin-skinned bullets will usually vaporize a bunch of tissue...no magic involved

That was about the hourly rate last time I hunted up there...if out-of-state tags weren't so much I'd go up and paste 6 in a weekend to help my dad like I used to before they limited the anterless tags.

Its not glory about bang flops( although its kinda nice not having to track) but I had two that ran into neighbors overgrown pasture and he won't let us track deer in there ( might see his crop....) I try to poke holes in em at least 50 yds. before the line and yes I like the high shoulder shot, but it doesn't always work that way. I'm just looking for accuracy. If its accurate I can put it where I want and I wasn't very confident in the Barnes out of my gun. I am getting excited about my 45 builds and with five weeks of season left I plan on piling up a few more. Good luck to everyone whether its hair or paper. Kevin

Andy, could get 5 doe tags a day this year starting back in September, same price as a buck tag thou Depending on which part of my place I make a stand, can have a crack at between 5-12, or more if the pressure is on. The kill will come, if not this weekend, then during ML or the late season.

I have only shot 4 deer so far with the Parkers, and will say they sure do seem to hit harder then any of the XTP's or SST's do. They are also hands down, the most accurate bullet out of two of my 45's to date.
