Leupold VXII 4X12X40 AO I have one on my Encore.223 One on my .22 CZ453 varminter. And one on my .22 H&R .22mag. They arent cheap but they arent expensive either. But also... My son has a new Redfield 3x9x40 that is very impressive. And they have it in a 4X12 also...but not AO. I see them around for 159 the 3x9 and 209 for the 4x12. Sometime's I may trade gun's.... But I still have every Leupold I ever bought... Good Luck and keep us posted Drop

i have a BSA sweet 22 trajectory compensating scope on my savage .22 & love it....it comes with 3 different turrets for different grained bullets...36,38 & 40 grains.
i also have the sweet 17 on my savage .17.....
they are cheap & both of mine work fairly good for the price. good luck!

I have burris 3-9-40 FF2 balistic plex scopes on my .22s, the plex works well with holdover once you figure where it hits, I shoot cci 22hpHP subconics alot and the CCI velocitors also, the ballistic plex works well for that if you know where the different rounds impact....also have a burris compact 2-7 thats really nice

If I were you I would go with an AO they really make a difference on small .22 type targets.
I have a Weaver 3X9 AO .22 scope and like it very much. They used to be about $200 from Midway. Not sure if they still make them.

Another vote for the BSA Sweet .22. Good scope for .22 rifles. +3. I have one on my savage .22. Clear glass, once sighted in correctly the dial in turrets are right on the money. Great scope on a rimfire for a good price.

If you do go with a nice CF scope, it would be a very good idea to go with an AO. Otherwise, the others are made for 0 parallax at 100yds.
I've had good luck with Bushnell Banners with AO. Funny thing about them, though.......the glass is not all equal on mine, even though they are the exact same model. If ya get one of these, it's a good idea to buy locally and not order, so you can see through it before you buy.
