:)Hoss, Thats some good looking food plots. What variety of clover are you using? Also, have you had much success with chicory? Tks, Larry

Durana is my favorite clover, none tougher. I also like chicory for adding forage for mid-summer when clover struggles, but it limits your options for weed control mixed in with the clover. You can still get the grasses with select or poast, just not the broadleaf weeds which can be handled pretty well by mowing.

I just planted 3acs. of Will ladino and commander chicory together. 1.Sounds like I should have planted seperate. 2.Which do you like best , poast or select? In the past , I have pretty much just planted oats and clover but wanted to try something different. I live in Randolph county.Tks, Larry

I've had much better control with select. I actually use arrow2ec, but they are the both clethodim. If you spray your grass with clethodim/crop oil and mow your broadleaf weeds you will probably be just fine. I'm just picky, I do not think the deer care.

My food plots look pathetic compared to these pictured. yours are lush, green and growing. Mine are dry dirt looking with a lot of weeds. I dont have the correct equipment, knowledge and money to make a nice plot like these. Very nice

nice plots. Here are two shots of one of mine. We have 6 once acre plots spread out over 235 acres. All with woods on 3 or 4 sides. The plots did well this year. The mast crop was so good this year, that by end of October the deer were still not hitting the plots. So the early MZ season they were still in the woods, and only crossing the plots. Report is this week they are starting to spend some time in them. I will be heading up next week for two weeks of hunting. By then likely some snow on the ground.
