Holsters are often an overlooked piece of equipment. I bet many like me often carry a piece stuck in a pocket or tucked in a waist band. All though I have some fine holsters and will mention them as this thread progresses, I was wondering what holsters you guys favor and why. One of my favorites that I rarely wear is a De Santis shoulder rig for my Glock 22. It has a double mag pouch on the off side, it is comfortable, and when wearing a jacket, very concealable. I don't wear it much, because as soon as you remove the jacket, well you get the picture. However on the rare occasion when I when I am inclined to wear a suit, will need to leave it on all day, and think there is a need to go strapped, then that is when I wear it. That does not happen very often. I also like belt slide models, but I don't have one for my G22. I do have several holsters for belt wear, but again, unless you wear something to cover it like a jacket, not always practical. Since I carry a piece tucked in the waistband often, I was thinking of getting an inside the waist band model. Anybody have a favorite?
I also like the Bianchi UM84 full flap model for heavy field use, such as on a tactical U rig , not fast, but great for retainment and protection of the back up weapon.
Anyway, what do you guys like to sport your hardware in?

I have two for my G23: A BladeTech IWB and a Bianchi leather IWB. As with most things, there are tradeoffs. Acquiring the Bianchi recently means I leave home wearing the G23 more often because it simply spring-clips over my belt and holds securely. So it does not take much time to arm up. On the down side, its cant is not as adjustable, it holds the gun up higher (making both wear and draw harder), and the leather makes the draw more difficult. So I am more likely to carry the gun but if I needed it I would have a harder time getting it into play.
The BladeTech is more comfortable, thinner (so wears better), and more adjustable. It also holds the gun lower so draw is easier and there is less friction in the draw. The only downside, which can be significant, is that you have to thread the belt through it in order to get it on. If I am in a hurry, I have often opted not to use it.
For my Taurus Model 85, I just have a Bianchi leather. With this smaller gun there really is no downside to this holster that I have encountered. Draw is easy, carry position good. When the weight, size of the G23 were inconvenient I would opt for this. Now that I have the quicker wearing holster for the G23 I use this gun less as in an actual situation I trust the G23 more.

You bring up some good points Spaniel. And reminded me of something, I carry a G23, not my G22, it stays by my bed with a light on it. I also have a lightweight Taurus 38 spl, probably is an 85, and I carry it in my pocket most of the time. Slow to get out, but easy to grab and go.
