It is really amazing how the Economy has had such an effect on items FS here. Use to be a time one could advertise an item and it never lasted more than a day and it was sold. Take for example a Leupold scope for $160/00-$180.00 or less when that very same scopes cost new $300.00 new. Then poor Knight rifles, one of the finest shooting ML'ers out there, But everyone profited on thier success then knight tried to keep up with the jone's by coming out with such dogs as the revolution & Rev. II while a VG rifle it just couldn't keep up with CVA and the likes. CVA may be a good rifle it's just not my cup of tea. Yes I am partial to my Knights and my Savages. But I in no way imply that anyone that owns a CVA or any other ML'er is somewhat off the bubble. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Even the economy has affected a CVA rifle pay 3-4 hundred then go to sell it? These big companies use these tacktics to lure the public by coming out with a new scope or rifle a new number a new name and it's no better than the one before, Nothing has really changed with the product a 3X9X40 is still a 3X9X40 with a new name. Well that's Life, the only way to beat these companies. is to keep what you have because alot of the new toys you buy and take a beating on Is the new product really worth it? I have been guilty of buying new and taking a beating on what I sell. But that is going to stop? Well I get these fits of rage at times and it all goes away till I feel this way again. Boy God Bless America. Lou

I think most of us are led down a wrong path by the new improved super duper claims. Often the older model is actually better quality. During the past several years because of cost many things that were made of metal are not plastic. Look at automobiles, rifles and furniture. Plastic may in some cases be as good but using it as a cost cutting measure isn't passed to the consumer. It often increases the cost to the consumer. But sometimes we do benefit. Hearing aids, dentures, prepared foods. Overall times are good compared to some times of the past.

I still like my smokey guns and will hunt and shoot them. Love the Savage and my Encore but I love my hammer guns, a bag of RBs and pack of patches and burning the Swiss. If I'm strictly close brushy area hunting I'll still use my Cabelas in .58 with 90 gr of FF Swiss and that 280 gr patched RB. It ain't called "No Track" because deer make tracks after a hit from her. I cast a lot of my own bullets, even some for the sabot. That is another reason to shoot the Savage, cheap to shoot. Heck I still use my grandfathers old 1911 Winchester auto shotgun, the original auto shotgun and the first produntion auto shotgun ever. Heck it kills deer, ducks, squirrels just a dead as a $1200 Benelli and it certainly has more value to me. I even make some of my own camo out of old painter pants and hoodies and made my own gillie suit too. Jeez, guess I'm not contributing to getting Obammies economy going, I'm keepin Bobs economy going. Bes to all, Bob
