The Ozark Angel is in the hospital getting help from an infection called diverticulitis. It looks like they have the infection under control but are going to keep her there to make sure all is OK before sending her home. I doubt I would last more than a month or so without her so your prayers would be greatly appreciated for us. We are a team and right now could use all the help we can get. Thanks, Ben PS: My daughter who was a nurse for over thirty years is with her. The staff at the hospital brought her a deal that makes into a bed, brings her food and she will stay with her mother as long as she is hospitalized. That is a big blessing for us.

It has been nice to have an Angel on your side hasn't it Ben? My prayer is for your whole family as you come together during these stressful times.

In the hospital they discovered she suffered from severe bacterial infection of the colon. The treatment is ten days of a specific type of antibiotic. We are relieved that hopefully they have found the problem and that it is treatable. Full recovery is expected. She has been undergoing this treatment for three days so maybe in another week she can come home feel like her old self. It is worse than me losing my right arm but I am doing fine. Plenty of help. Should there be any change I will try to inform everyone. This is supposed to be highly contagious so she takes her therapy and all else in her room. Ben

She is home but weak. This morning she started running a fever and has no appetite. Her doctor extended her antibotic treatment. It worrys the heck out of me but there is not one thing I can do to prevent her problems. She tries to keep me from worry and tries to act fine when she isn't. I don't know where this will lead but I have a lot of fear. I just pray that God gives us both the strength and courage to go through whatever is in store for us. Our daughter has been staying with us but went home today but will return tomorrow. She is such a blessing to us both.

She is back in the hospital because she continued to go downhill. What hurts me most is that I detect the first indication of giving up. Last night she told me she didn't think they were treating her for her real problem. She thinks there is something that they have failed to detect. Our daughter is with her and she is the best medicine for Mom at this time. Our son tells me he prepared himself for the worst when he visited last week. What will be will be and what God has in store for us is ours to bear. Sorry, I don't want to write about this more. Ben

The Angel is back home. Got here shortly after noon. After several diagnosis and questionable guesses they finally decided that among other things she has congestive heart failure. Failure sounds bad to me but she is feeling better and evidently avoiding salt and with medications she isn't in critical conditions. Our daughter (Nurse for over thirty years) is with us for awhile and a big help. It looks like she will have to do the things to control this or be at great risk. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and their concern. I am doing pretty good with my ailments. Just finished my walk of about 60 feet. Caused me to have labored breathing but recovery is pretty quick. Drove up to our hunting area this afternoon. It looks like a park around the cabin and hunting cabins. Bushhogger did a good job.

Ben, "Congestive heart failure" sounds a lot like "heart failure" , but it's really heart failure starting due to fluid build up. When ever the fluid build up is controlled, the failure part virtually goes away. It sounds worse than it is, when effectively treated. You both are in Mary's and my prayers, Steve

SW, Since we know you have extensive medical training your words are comforting. All are but you have an inside track on the subject. She ordered me to reply to you with a Thank You. Her request is a direct order to me. She is doing about the same but says she is improving. Her three hospital stays took a bunch from her ordinary energy. Thanks all. Ben
