yes there were rifles fired with smokeless powder. An optima and a kodiak.
check out youtube, plenty of rifles from ar15's to remingtons going kaboom with banana split barrels.
ANYTHING can happen with any make/model of rifle/pistol/shotgun.

"And they weren't fired with smokeless. "
And you know this because....
i know a witness to one of those guns blowing up. The guy had IMR 3031 on his shooting bench.

They blew up when loaded with modest charges of black powder.

were you at the court when the trials began? Or just repeating heresay? Toby says his savage blew up with recommended loads and that the breech plug design was to blame.

A quick google search will reveal everything there is to know about both subjects. It wasn't a breech plug design issue. If you care to know the truth.... randywakeman.com/HowToBlowUpASavage10ML.htmBy the way Toby's rifle was rebarreled and is in use today.

FG keeps trying to imply that Savage had a problem to divert attention away fron the spanish muzzleloader safety issues.

As mentioned earlier a simple google search on "dangerous muzzleloaders" backs it up.

I did a Google search .RW's article was right at the top.But it does not support your claim that muzzleloaders made in Spain are dangerous. In years past that may have been the case. But I don't believe that to be the case now.I don't own any import muzzleloader .But that is a personal choice i made.I certainly wont condemn those who do.I think the CVA's a safe rifles.I think that Bergarra barrels are high quality products. The reason I dont own them is i prefer american made. But i did research these on my own.I have nothing personal against Randy or Toby. But they are hired guns and their opinions have as much to do with who is writing the check as anything else. And i stand behind what i said before. You make statements but you dont back it up.By the way Grouse you started this.Where are you?Billy
P.S. Im done with this one

If you buy a product, read the instructions. I todays world the likely hood of this product hurting you, if you stay within the manufacturers recommendations is extremely small.
