I have a stainless rem.700ml 50cal. . I am new to DOUGS board and am trying to get info from you all knowledgeable muzzleloader fanatics in some possible upgrades that I can use to make my gun as accurate as possible. I have read some of the threads on DOUG's site and am overwhelmed at the knowledge that is shared here. I missed a great buck this past season because of my greenhorness in muzzleloading. I am very interested in the savageml11 and probably will buy one in the future. But for now I think that I have a diamond in the rough with my stock 700ml. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Allan

Dave D. is the guru on Rem MLs, although modified. He is the one to consult IMO.

:)greenhorn i have converted many to be a centerfire instead of the slamfire system you have on your gun.it was a chore but worth it.there is a guy on this board (hunter) who has a gunsmith that has a conversion for $80 that is supposed to eliminate 90% of that nasty blowback.i havent seen it but you might want to pm him and he could e-mail you a pic.there are other conversions out there but they get costly.go to the inline forum on this board and you will find rem 700ml threads.goodluck

If you dont want the expense of the conversion you may want to think of haveing your breech plug converted to use Pistol casings and rifle primers. When I first got an inline and believe me I have had them all LOL. You may profit from this I did the very same thing I missed Deer I shot at. But out at the range I drove tacks. Then one of the member at the range said to me Aim, Shoot, and follow through. What he meant was the hang time of a ML'er is nothing like a rifle. So holding the ML'er steady after the bullet is gone that is what he meant by follow through. Hope this makes some kind of sense. So I started talking to my self. Aim, Shoot, and follow through over and over and you guessed it I killed a 7 point at about 100 yards. I have not missed since then. and I am still talking to myself. Glad I am alone or some may think I am crazy, I think some may already think that as to how many time I changed my mind as to what I was going to use to do the conversion LOL. You have come to the right place for good information from a bunch of very knowledgable people (Not Me) Lou
