My 23 year old son had success during the last hour of the last day of our 3 day "gun" season here in NE Arkansas. He killed the doe at 267 yds(a personal longest shot) with his RB special Obo stocked 45 PacNor with 0.450" barrel with Harley re-sized 275BEs and 12/51g VV-110/2015/WW. DRT. At about 4PM today, I was doing a bony impaction extraction of a lower left wisdom tooth on a young lady(his best friend's wife) when my receptionist came in with the phone and said Zach was whispering "how much do I hold over at 250 yds with this load. This had been a rushed up sighting -in of appx 2350'/sec and 1 1/2" hi @ 100 yds and no further work. Being somewhat preoccupied, I said "I think aim at the top of the back". As I continued with the surgical procedure, I couldn't help but think that was poor info: there will be more drop than that. I had my receptionist call back but no answer. When he got home he said that he shot as I said and the deer ran appx 15 yds further out into the field and went back to eating. He reloaded. He aimed at 12" over the back and got a perfect hit. We are not seeing any decent bucks at all and does normally just at the end of shooting light. :)With the moon tonight and the 56mm WCE on this gun the end of possible, not permissible, shooting light will be about 4 AM. Another kill with a RB 45.

Congrats to your son on a fine doe harvest and on a good shot at the yardage mentioned. I'm sure he will fill in the details with a smile on his face when he got home. Ed

I dare anybody to top that story ;D. Great adjustment and how'd the wisdom tooth come out? With a little difficulty, but not bad. Last night, the patient stated that she has felt no pain . Incidentally, when Tylenol(ACTM) and ibuprofen(Motrin, Nuprin), 400 and 650 are both in the patient's system when a dental surgical procedure is done and continue to be taken every 4 hours(200/325), for a few doses, usually no pain will occur. Thank you guys.

Congratulations, Steve. I had wondered to what use you'd put my resized bullets, and am pleased they contributed something for your son. As Shooter once said, "That's a loooooooooooong" way out there.
For the sake of comparison, my load is 12/47 SR4759/A2015, with a MV of 2307, using that same bullet and the CCIM primer. I use a single dry wool wad.

Great shot & story. Way to "multi-task". That sounds like something my son Zach would do--I mean the phone call.
