And ozark, do you know how much fun it is to shoot one gal milk jugs full of water at 50 100 or 150 yrds. Add a little red food coloring and wow.

I'm guessing I've been hand loading (I don't say "reloading" since I got sophisticated) longer than any of you, 58 years and counting, and have gone through all the arguments pro and con many times. In some calibers I've saved money over time, in others I'll never make back my initial costs.
I do know that I load cartridges that are superior to anything I could buy, in part because they are tailored to my own rifles; but the bottom line I've learned is this: You don't have to justify the money spent on hand loading---- if you enjoy it and can afford it, then just do it.
