My uncle has a Schultz&Larsen Model M65DL in .243 that he wants to mount the VariX-III. It is a 3.5x14x50mm. Any suggestions on mounts, rings sizes etc? Thanks

:)Jim, I'll bet that is actually a 4.5X14 50mm VarX-3.

I can't say for sure about that particular rifle but my Leupold 3.5-10x50 barely makes it in medium Leupold rings with Leupold single dovetail mounts on a Savage ML. So medium might make it but as far a type rings I don't have a clue for that model.

Thanks, he has Weaver bases and rings on it now he says. The next time I am there I will look at it and I am sure we will get it figured out.

Rare rifle (in the US) with class and a good shooter from what I seen of the few I have had the chance to lay eyes on. Do not butcher it up, it is probly worth twice what he paid for if he bought it new back in the 60s. The biggest thing I remember is the rear bolt lugs.
