Here's mine on my friend's rooftop (I lived on the third floor) . All factory, it shoots submoa if I do my part. I decided this gun is best left the way it is, I don't mess with success if I don't have to

This is my 45 cal 10ML-II RB conversion. It sports a 25" Pacnor, RB's custom breechplug, and a NSS ground recoil lug all assembled and bedded by Rick Bibby to a Savage VLP centerfire laminate stock. It wears a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 with Warne rings and bases. It's hefty at almost 12 lbs but its a real tack-driver.

It appears your scope sets high enough you left your sights on? ?? If this is correct can you see sights under the scope?

Sights will stay on. Long time ago I was able to use the iron sights to overcome a scope mount operator error kind of a problem. Overcame a respectable 10 pt whitetail that morning, too. One of the things I learned in the service was 100% back up and reliability.
The mounts are solid. There are see through mounts. I don't know if see though's are available for the Savage flat receiver or not. I have tried them and they were not for me. Around here, that mount are popular with older guys. I believe not completely trusting those new fangled scopes made a difference. Of course if your Dad/Grampa believed in them, you have a tendency to believe in them.

You guys are making me sick LOL, I love beautiful furniture and I have two thumbs when it comes to stock work. I was the general contractor on my recent house. Subed most the work out I did all the molding and hung all the windows even a 12" bow window, all the painting all the staining. But am F.U.B.A.R when it comes to doing all the beautiful stock out there I have seen. If I can't buy it already done. Anybody out there who would make a stock for my Rem 700 build make me one of those beautiful stock I will pay what ever the person ask. Be kind to an old fart. Lou Youp50 I guess the Devil made you do it Very Nice.

I do not know if the devil made me do it or not. Having a 65 dollar stock made it easier to do than a 200 plus stock. I cut a very long wrist on the stock. The cheek piece ends at the button on my jaw. What is left of the cheek piece aligns my eye with the scope axis as well as my eyes can determine. I do like the way it gets my cheek clear of recoil. I figured the standard answer for needing a good cheek weld is two fold. Proper eye to sights alignment and rapid follow up shot. I am not going to do any rapid follow up. The sooner I can get the stock off my face, during recoil, the better I will feel about it. The checkering was a completely successful endeavor. My plan was to create a some slip resistant surfaces. ML season and snow are a fact of life here. There are enough illegal lane changes in the final product to keep a traffic cop writing for hours. I had a good time altering the stock to suit me. The final product is uniquely garish and carried with an air of a fellow that has in his hand what suits him. And the time spent checkering, forming and finishing the stock sort allowed the thing to grow on me.

You guys really know how to hurt a guy, all those beautiful stocks put mine to shame. I have never been good at any type of stock work i am what you may call me a wood butcher. My father and I built 2 houses and I was Gen'l contr. on the last two I built. I did all the trim work myself but when it comes to stocks I'd rather have some one else do it. I applaud all of you. Happy New Year Lou

Elkboy65, The stock is a Richards Camo Laminate, with the black, green, and brown. The scope is a Nikon 3-9x40. Very nice set up. I like your attention to detail right down to the scope. Great Work.

Top 2 are fitted with Rayhill Stocks.Bottom one is a plain jane model. Is that bottom one a Kahles Scope? It looks like it from the pics. If so +1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those Rayhill stocks look really practical. Me likes.
