I recently have switched over a couple of rifles to the Leupold CDS systems. One is a mild recoiling .350 Legend and the the other is a .450 Bushmaster Savage 110 w Muzzle brake. The .350 dials and seems to go where dialed, however the .450 BM seems to have begun having vertical POI shifts when dialing and I am going to have to remove it and send it to Leupold. Some have told me that the combo of high recoil & Muzzle brake common to the .450 BM seems to eat scopes with weak "erector" systems and the Leupold's are known for this. I have another one mounted on my SML (with heavy 300 grain loads, but no Muzzle brake) I just mounted this summer and am second guessing that decision after being told about this "weak erector" system and heavy recoil... Anybody have any experience running CDS or Leupolds on their SML's?

Interesting. I have a Leupold V5HD 3-15x44 with CDS on my smokeless, and have not had any issues. Love the glass.

What model of scope do you have? What bases and rings?

There has been some discussion with issues with VX6
But the VX5HD and VX6HD have been flawless
