Got my Encore shooting pretty good and scope adjusted. @burrisoptics This Droptine 4.5-14x42 scope is probably way more scope than I will need for this 300 yard SML But the clarity and ease of setting it up makes the $300 price they sell for seem like a more expensive scope than what it is. question for you guys.. I have it close at 200 and then shot at 100 to see how high the shot would be. 4" high isn't bad. But with this mildot scope should I go ahead and make it dead on at 100 then figure out the mildot drop for 2 and 300 yards? Haven't used mildot much and don't want it to be confusing for me while deer hunting.

I would sight dead on at 100 yds and then find holdovers out to 300.

I like to setup with a 3 inch point blank zero which generally gets me to about 200 yards. This helps me where I hunt as most shots happen quickly and are mainly less than 230 yards. Then if my scope has stadia marks or mil dots I would work out the exact mark per distance.

What is your load? What type of area do you hunt?
