Hello, I am still quite new to the Savage smokeless scene.
I have aquired a few Savage 10 ML II's and have noticed that 2 of the 4 stainless barreled ones have a flat top where the
rear scope mount goes. 2 have a flat top and 2 are round like the rest of the barrel.
All the blued 10 ML II's I have, have a round front and rear top.
Was wondering if there was a reason for that or was it just a "model" change.
Any info would be greatly appreciated as i would like to set one up for deer hunting up to 300yrds and was wondering if one might have an advantage over the other.
Thanks in advance !

The earlier 10 ml11's had the flat top on the rear receiver. The later had the round front and rear, also the later ones had the accutrigger and the stock mounting screws were different spacing 4.4in I believe . Some models are large shank and I'm sure the earlier were all small shank. They both shoot equally well with moderate loads and are capable 300 yrd guns.
