I just picked up some 200 gr SSTs .40 cal in a .45 sabot (blue harvester)
Any one tried there BC?
And have an estimate on my velocity?
28” barrel (smokeless capable) 105 gr by weight of BH209
Got under one MOA at 100 but forgot the 9v battery for my chrony.

Hornady's claim of a BC of .265 must be on the high side . I'm wondering myself what the " real world " BC actually is . I have shot several deer with this bullet at 2450fps and it worked well ... dead deer real quick . This year I have a load that shoots as well , if not better , at 2675 fps . Chris

I should have a pretty good idea once I get velocity based on shooting out to 400 yards with my kestrel ballistic calculator/weather station.
I may have time tomorrow morning to chronograph

Made it to the range and took some velocity
Fully clean 2529 FPS
Second shot dirty right away 2620
Later did chronograph shot 6 and 8 waiting 15 minute in between shots to be cool.
2599 FPS and 2610 FPS
My dope with a 100 yard zero to 415 yards was 11.50 MOA
Punching numbers into my kestrel (used 2610 FPS for my velocity)that puts the 200 sst at .210 G1

One of the guys who shoots semi long range at normal BH209 speeds got around .245 BC iirc.

the BC I came up with is close enough for my dope and is not scientific or repeated.
This also is just past going subsonic out of my gun since that’s where I had a 18” steel plate. Would need a lot more testing to confirm it’s making it through.
I prefer to shot out farther to validate my BC.
Slower Velocity usually correlated to low BC.

A B.C. of .210 is not all that far behind the Barnes 195gr. H.P. Chris
