Yesterday she put about 2" apart at 200yds but I felt the gun could do better so I went back today and shot again at 200 then went to 300. The load is 56grs of N120 and 300gr Nosler BT with a HCR black sabot and Federal 209A primers. Average velocity is 2265fps 200yds 300yds

Very nice, but I'd move that finger a little bit further from the bull, just in case the wind shifts

Great shooting ! Some folks think the Barnes 300gr. Original is too strongly constructed for smaller sub- species of whitetails . Having hunted in Halifax Cty. , NC , I tend to think they may be correct . The Nosler 300gr. may be just right . It is certainly grouping great . Chris

Tar12 shot a bunch of deer with the BOs but they are western Indiana deer and might be bigger than most.

I hunted in North Carolina with some really good hunters from East Tennessee . A couple of them had hunted in Indiana and they said an Indiana buck's neck was as big around as an East Carolina bucks chest . They are different sub- species . Tar12 showed me a picture of a 298 pound doe that he shot ... that's more than 3 East Carolina does !

298 Lbs doe? Wow!!!!! That is one picture I would like to see.
I know some of the corn fed Iowa does we have taken in the past are bigger than the bucks we kill in Maryland. The Mid-West has some big bodied deer for sure.

N120 and a 300gr bullet is one of the best MLII loads going. That Nosler though is also a tough bullet. The jacket is very thick. The 325gr FTX works well too and isnt quite a tough.

For comparision I weighed 325 at the time of this picture...I like to never got this big girl loaded as I was hunting by myself...the folloiwng year I killed another monster doe out of the same drainage ditch that went 260 field dressed! Yes you heard that correctly! No doubt she was the off spring of thie 298 lb doe pictured....I have not killed a buck or doe since that rivals these 2...and I kill alot of deer every year...

That is incredible. Thanks for posting the picture. I did not realize a whitetail doe could get that big. I have seen some does in Iowa and Canada that have gone well over 150 lbs field dressed. In what state did you kill those hefty gals?

Incredible! That doe almost looks like a cow elk hanging there. I need to fill some Indiana doe tags one of these days. Thanks for sharing the picture. PS- Just come to realize looking at the map that I drive straight thru Fountain county whenever I go to Iowa to hunt at my buddy's place.
