I have a Savage ML10 that was given to me, but do not have the primer module. Can anyone tell me where I can get them?

Are you needing a breech plug for 209 primers or large rifle primer modules? I would contact Luke at Arrowhead.

I think what he has is the original 10ml with a lugged action that took a rather large primed module that chambered like a cartridge.

It is the module that holds a 209 primer.

What and where is Arrowhead? Is there a website or email address?

When you are reading this just scroll up nearer the top and you will see "click here for arrowhead" It is in the green area, click on it and you will have info.

It is the module that holds a 209 primer. Are you sure you don't mean "breech plug"? If the bolt does not have lugs, I'm pretty sure you need a breech plug rather than modules. Excuse me if I am wrong, but didn't the original 10ML's modules use center fire primers only?

It is not the breech plug. The bolt has lugs just like the mod 10 center fire. The module looks like a 45ACP shell but is solid with a hole in the middle. You insert a 209 primer in it ans load like a cartridge into the action.

Ok, thank-you for the correction. I'm not very familiar with the first 10ML.
In the past, there have been several posts inquiring where to get the modules to no avail. There were also posts about the later modules leaking badly.
Depending on how much you want to put into it, your best course of action may be to rebarrel with one of the new CF plug systems. As far as a build, it would be the closest thing to "plug & play" you can get. A 45 barrel is also practically guaranteed to be much more accurate than the factory 50 that's on it now.

Just got primer modules from dennisinva. WOW!!!! they look great. Now anxious to try the gun out. I have seen some loads for the Savage ml10 2 but nothing for the 10ml. Can I use the same loads? What is a good starting point. Looking for hunting accuracy. Distances up to 100 yards.

I used 49.0gr. of RL7 and a 300gr. XTP in the MMP short sabot in my Savage ML10 back " in the day " . Shot 1" to 1 1/2" at about 1900fps . My old Owners Manual I got with the gun lists 48.0gr. with the 300gr. XTP but states best results could be with one or two grains more or less the of powder . The other powders listed have lost favor with sabot shooters . I also shot 44.0gr. of N110 with a 250gr.SST in the MMP short sabot with equal accuracy . That velocity was about 2300fps. Chris
