Im getting close to pulling the trigger on doing a new smokeless build. Going to go with an Encore build this time. Why would I chose one ignition over the other? Last time I had a smokeless I had a McGowan barrel on a Stevens action with the 209 bolt head. I ran duplex loads and hated having to duplex. Not sure why I just never liked doing it and want to make sure I get away from having to duplex this time around. Would the LRMP ignition make it so I don’t have to duplex. I have a ton of H4198 still from the last time I would like to use.
Thanks

I am gravitating to all LRMP. All of my plugs are ASG. I found the WW209 to work for years. Then I tried the Fed 209A and found a very noticable increase in performance. In the same firearm. Then I converted it to ASG GENII LRMP. Substantial impro eme t over all. My Encore is ASG LRMP and so is my new build in progress. And I intend to have my last 209 gun retro-fitted for it also.. I would check to be sure it is legal in your state. And all I use is 4198...H and IMR. And to your last statement...every since I switched th the ASG GEN II I have never felt the need to duplex any more Drop

Accuracy wise, I ain't good enough to see any clear difference. With the ASG Gen 2 plug, my ES are definitely better than what I saw with 209s.

That is the one thing that has held back my upgrading.

Hope the conservation officers understand this. I talked with three different officers and got the same story from all three. Not surprisingly none of the officers knew what I was talking about. Their replies were all that if it was not specifically mentioned in the regs and they checked me in the field, they would write a citation and let the courts figure it out.
As best I can tell it is not specifically mentioned in the regs.

They are a little more cumbersome screwing the modules in & out but you sure don’t need Duplex loads & you wouldn’t have to keep removing your extractor to remove your breech plug. MGM / ASG may now have a more convenient extractor removal set up?
