I did some data gathering this weekend with BH209 by weight and Luke's 310 APB. I did gather some pressure traces and I will publish them soon. The loads are not considered safe in standard guns even with BH2009 plugs, but they are very safe in my RemBrux gun. All loads are ignited with Fed 209A. The breechplug is one of Luke's rear sealing plugs with TC bushing. All loads barrel timing fell on a desired node. Along with speed comes recoil. BH209 by weight | Velocity | Pressure | 95 | 2306 | 32687 | 100 | 2337 | 32740 | 105 | 2386 | 34054 | 110 | 2446 | 34845 | 115 | 2515 | 36820 |

What is your barrel length?
I have a 28” Brux and am getting 2346 FPS with 95 gr by weight of BH209 with cci mag 209 (with Luke s plug) and 344 bombs.
The velocity was record by mangetospeed with no brake (radial brake would blow the chronograph off the barrel). Only load that I have done through my gun.

A lot to be said for the .45cal barrels over the standard .50's, such as the UF or RUM barrels.

My barrel is 26". These bullets were sized for a one hand seat. A larger diameter on the bullet will increase the pressure and velocity. Your speed is very quick with that heavy of a bullet. Here is a trace I did with a 350 gr bullet and 95 gr by weight. My velocities are recorded with a Labradar.

Through my 50cal Lothar Walther barrel, fitted with Luke's new UF breech plug, I'm testing the Fury 325gr start tips. To date, I believe I've found the sweet spot with BH209 at 105grs WEIGHT. Western (Ramshot) has tested the RUM and UF barrels and indicate they are safe to 160grs VOLUME or 112grs by WEIGHT.

Bullet fit, bore condition ,blackhorn lot of powder and jacket thickness all will have effect on velocity.

Are there large variations in velocity due to different lots of BH-209?

Might be one of the factors, but like Bestill and I mentioned, bullet construction and sizing has a direct impact on pressure/velocity. Same with smokeless powder loads. Just because I got XXXX fps with my setup does not mean you will get the same with yours. Even when using the same components. The traces are just more of a reference point than showing what is gospel. Your mileage may vary.

Huge variations in lot to lot How much of a Charge Weight Variation is normally used to offset this for your Competition Rifles? My latest 5 lb can of BH 209 is Lot #26. I’ve heard of people using Lot #30? Probably good advise to always purchase 5 lb cans?

I test velocity per lot numbers at given charge weight and adjust ballistic chart accordingly.
Yes i buy 5 to 10 lb at a time of same lot.
