The BH209 shooters need some love sometimes too. With Remington taking a no BH209 stance for the 700UML coupled with the fact that many 700 UML's aren't head spaced correctly from the factory, a better option was needed. This new plug uses ASG Gen2 (patent pending) technology in the 700 Ultimate Breech Plug foot print. See link for more information: arrowheadsporting.com/asggen2_uml.html

Glad you showed interest in making them. I mentioned them quite awhile ago to another but he had no interest in making them.

Will it be capable of still shooting 4 pellets of 777 not that I will What will be Maximum load for BH-209 Western has physically tested a Remington Ultimate Muzzleloader. Western states that the maximum of BH209 in the RUM is 160grs by VOLUME. That said, I'm very much under the impression that Luke's newly designed breech plug, will more than handle the identical pressure if not more. To be positive, give him a call.

Correct, anything the factory UML plug can do, the ASG Gen2 plug can do better. One tester ran it up to 120gr by weight (~180 by volume) and had very sub MOA accuracy with 327MH.

Thanks new plug is in my future Luke created a breech plug for the original Ultimate, the BP Xpress. My barrel is on it's way back Thanks Luke! The new plug will be a game changer for both Ultimate rifles.

This I'll just say...…. Its sure nice to be able to remove my BP again! I received my BP Xpress barrel back from ASG and put the rifle back together. The ability to shoot BH209 without worrying about gas cutting the breech plug, is outstanding. About all I can say is its PERFECT and a game changer for both the RUM and UF rifles.
I have to say that medical issues have kept me from just about all shooting for groups for well over a year, but things are improving. I shot the rifle here on my 100yd home range. Ignition was INSTANTANEOUS with BH. Absolutely "0" gas leak. Modules clean. My rustiness certainly showed, but it wasn't a test of my ability, more just to re-zero and test the system with BH. It was hot at 92° with 62% humidity, which isn't the best for shooting saboted rounds. After a few adjustments, my rustiness certainly showed, but the system is perfect. I will admit also, I didn't let the barrel cool enough between shots.
When I received the barrel, I removed the BP then reinstalled and torqued it to 70ip. When cleaning up after shooting, the breech plug removed at 70ip! With an Ultimate Firearms Inc. rifle, removing the OEM breech plug after firing a few rounds isn't possible.
Shooting was done with 120grs volume of BH, H5045LB sabot, 300gr SST and Federal 215 Match primers. When it cools and the bugs stop eating me up, I'll get at working on my ability, plus different charges.
Again, thanks Luke for making this possible for all us RUM and UF rifle owner/shooters!

Working the rust off from almost 1.5yrs of not shooting for groups....….. Told the wife I didn't care what the neighbor down the road thought, it was a little cooler and I was going to start shooting early. Used the method Bestill shared with me for swabbing between shots. Worked with no variation in loading force. Thanks Jeff! I'd highly recommend anyone with a Remington Ultimate, or an Ultimate Firearms Inc. rifle to have this new breech plug fix. Thanks again Luke! There's no doubt that my rifle will require a fouling shot. First round was 3" high. With the photo below, I used SILK on my front and rear bag for the first time. Oh my, is that stuff slippery! I ended up shooting the first few rounds holding the rifle with both hands. Finally felt comfortable enough to use just the trigger hand and shot the bottom 3-shot group in the target. I'm not shooting now where near the capability of the rifle, yet. 120grs VOLUME of BH209, Harvester H5045LB sabot, Federal 215 Match primers in new ASG system. Range, 100yds.
