Hello all. I would like to have a 700 Ultimate converted to smokeless. Can anybody help with choosing a LRMP system? Which one works? Pros and cons? I can't seem to find much info on the one Arrowhead Sporting Goods sale.

Nobody makes a direct swap breech plug. You will need some machine work to get it done.

All the lrmp systems work, number have people have the Gen2 plug in their guns, it should be pretty maintenance free and easier on bushing wear because of the reduced flame channel distance. Got a report recently of a pretty high shot count on a .375 cal with no bushing wear with a Gen 2 plug in it. dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/thread/19850/next-gen-lrmp

I do nave another question. I know there is machine work with a new Brux barrel and barrel has to be tapped for the breech plug. 1. Does the barrel have to be threaded for the action or is this done by Brux? 2. Is the barrel fitted to the action then breech plug tapped for certain depth for head space or 3. Is the barrel tapped for the breech plug and then barrel threads and shoulder cut for the action to set headspace.
I understand the concepts just not the order of procedure.
Can a guy. Oh wait. Need to be PC. A guy or gal. Order a barrel with LRMP plug installed from Doug and have it fitted by a local gunsmith?
