Is anyone casting their own .40 bullets to use in .45 cal sabots? I think it would be cool to have a 250 grain cast lead bullet to shoot from the .45 inline or a smokeless muzzleloader.
I just got thru putting together a group buy on a NOE mold for the Smith Civil War rifled carbines to use in NSSA competition. Today I started thinking about a heavy .40 cal bullet.
I think it would be great to have a 2 part 250 great bullet to hunt with. Pour a pure lead nose and wheel weight base to fit a blue harvester and let her rip.
Anyone interested??

He said they shot good in a 50cal 1-28. Twist rate calculator says 1-29 at 2000fps will be stable. Thats assuming the .89 length is correct. I know LBT will cut custom sabot molds too. 265gr in ww lead sounds heavy to me if you want to use a softer alloy its going to be over 270gr. Scroll down about half way.. 2 cavity is $125+$10 shipping for a custom LBT mold. www.lbtmolds.com/molds.shtml

Any interest on the board in doing a group buy on a custom bullet mold for the 45 cal muzzle loaders? If we could get 10 people to sign up at NOE we can get a 15% discount on a mold that will most likely cost about $100.
