I was at Scheels yesterday and found a Remington 700 7mag barely used for $299. I'm debating on trading my TC Venture 7 mag for it. The Remington would be easier to find aftermarket parts for it but I haven't even worked up loads for the TC Venture. The only thing I want to do with venture is get a better stock. This gun was bought to shoot elk and I don't plan on doing competition, it will be used for hunting only.
What would you do?

I'd go with the 700 for the sheer fact it is better supported.

Someone put the Remington 700 7mag on hold so that answered my question. I did manage to buy a 1000 Federal 215m primers for $45 so I have primers to reload now. I'll work up loads for the TC Venture 7 mag and see what I cam get it to do. I've read a lot of positive reviews on it so it should make a great hunting rifle.
They offered me $175 for the venture so I felt that was weak and hold on to the rifle. If I upgrade ill just pass the rifle down to my boy.

Good find on the primers! They have been hard to find, in some areas.
