I use the Lyman book for 45/70 Gov, 40/65 Sharps Straight, and 40/65 Win. It lists Trapdoor Springfield light loads to modern firearm elephant loads. I would recommend that book as a starting point.

I bought one when they first came out. It had loading/ejection issues. I sent it back and the repaired it. It came back with a new barrel, etc. They removed the original ghost ring sights and replaced them with the crappy cheap Marlin-like sights. I called and they said the ghost rings are no longer offered and the new barrels have the dovetailed-in rear sight. I explained that the sights were a selling point to me but it fell on deaf ears. That will be my last Henry. Sold it. Anyway, I like 50gr Imr4198 and your choice of 300gr HP's. The Speer is bonded and a heck of a bullet. BTW this load is only 30kpsi www.midwayusa.com/product/930537/speer-bullets-45-caliber-458-diameter-300-grain-hollow-point-box-of-50
