Thank you for allowing me to join Doug's Message Board. I'm looking forward to learning a great deal from the muzzleloading community here.
Regarding my background. I've been retired for four years, started hunting big game in 1961 and muzzleloading in 1975. When my children were younger I was very involved in various muzzleloader groups, rendezvous, club shoots, State muzzleloader regulations, mountain men public school education programs, etc. but for the last 20 years I've limited most of my muzzleloading to mule deer and elk hunting.
Until the last three or four years all of my shooting/hunting as been with the traditional style rifles, but now own a couple of traditional in-line models. I have, this week purchased a, like new, White .540 G Series rifle that I'm hope to learn more about.
I will spend a good deal of time searching previous discussion threads here, in hopes of learning all I can about the White and other muzzleloading discussion, before I get too engaged. I wouldn't feel comfortable asking too many questions until I've had an opportunity to learn what's already been shared by others.
If you're interested in smokeless muzzle loading you'll learn a lot on these message boards. I've been a member here for over 3 years, have two smokeless MZ's and still consider myself a blatant green horn compared to most. Welcome and good luck.
Welcome. Lots to learn and a good place to get information and ideas. That White is a real find. Some of the guys her have whites but it's mostly SML. If you want to find about White rifles there is a very dedicated group called "Dirty White Boys" and they have a part of forum over on Modern Muzzleloader. I have 1 White, a Bison, and it is going afield this year for the 1st time ever. Hope you become a regular. All like to see the pix of the rifles etc... eyecandy is always welcome. I'll post a link to the MM site so you can find more info on the White. Best, 10
