One old dog(me) and 3 pups,Quentin,Caden and Kirk...I field trialed beagles for years and got out of it. I would love to have a good pair of beagles again BUT I have 4 BMCs and don't hunt them properly...simply can't justify it. We just stomped the brush this day.10 years ago when we first secured this place to hunt you couldn't buy a rabbit there...that has all changed since we instituted a scorched earth policy on Yotes and feral cats.

We have done pretty good in a couple areas where the yotes don't seem to be to bad. One area where I know they are bad we only killed two rabbits all day running 11 beagles. This pic was from last Saturday.

Very nice, any tricks for skinning/cleaning? Do you save the pelts or let the critters eat edge.

I set rabbit boxes as a kid and when I caught one it was a great day.... I remember doing the same...and was shocked when I finally caught one! lol

Wish I had pics of when we used to go. We didn't carry full rabbits, we tore the head off and gutted them on the spot and hung the head and entrails in the trees or high in the multiflora rose to lighten our load. We had an assembly line when we cleaned them. Two guys skinned them down while another guy cut the legs off with side cuts. Another guy quartered them out and another guy washed them off, last guy or guys wrapped them up.

These boys are young and stupid! lol At a minimum I use to take a knife and make a incision through the rib cage. Grab the back legs and with a hard downward slinging snap motion the guts would come flying out.

When you get older that macho attitude starts to change to work smarter, not harder.
