A while back I ordered a 25-06 barrel for my old tang model ruger 77 from mcgowen. SS heavy sporter 24" long. It arrived Thursday, and so I screwed it onto the action and dropped the go gauge in to see how much short chambered it was and the bolt closed, almost in a fit of panic I dropped the no go in and the bolt stopped right where it should of. Timing was right on to as the barrel too. stamping is 12 o clock high. So I bedded the barrel in (action has been bedded for a few years) and took it to the range Friday, it's at least a .75" gun with horn 117's. Driving home I stopped by mc d's and my order was 257, you suppose it was a sign. Now to see if it will shoot 115 partitions

It great when it works that way. I have been happy with my 25-06 since 1962.
