Looking to by a scope for my my new smokeless MGM Brux Encore .45 cal.. Will be shooting sabots looking to max out to 300 yds. I recently purchased a Vortex 4-12x40 Diamondback BDC for my .45 Omega shooting Blackhorn 209. Could not ask for a better scope for this gun. Vortex also has 4-12x40 Viper BDC series that is approx $200 more than the Diamondback. The Viper is also 2.5'' longer with a side parallax adjustment knob and weighs 2 ounces more. Was wondering if anyone had experience with these two scopes and could tell me if it is worth my while to purchase the Viper over the Diamondback.

One thing to watch is the shorter eye relief and smaller FOV on the viper.

All 3 of my smokeless muzzleloader have the Diamondback HP on them. My oldest niece's Encore has the 3x12x42 HP and the youngest ones Savage has the 2.5x8x32 HP. No problems with any of them. Mark

Too bad I missed this. I have a 4-16 HS:T I'm looking to unload. Would have made you a good deal on a LNIB.
