What setup works best with aluminum bolts? I cant get them to shoot worth a darn but my ten point pro elites carbons shoot great. I have a lot of 2219 but they just shoot lousy and I would like to use them if possible.

Are the diameters the same? I expect they are. Xbow arrows require more FOC than longer arrows. General rule , the shorter the arrow, the more required to stabilize the arrow. Unless you're specifically addressing this, likely your FOC is too low. Xbow arrows need less fletching than vbow arrows. Helical Blazers are the most common : fletched with the AZ Ezifletch Bolt. Generally with conventional nock and Blazers, a minimum of 190-200g insert/broadhead combined wt for expandible BH, and 210- quite a bit more for conventional BH , with 210-230g being average. More doesn't hurt but decreases trajectory at longer (60+ yds) ranges. Hope this helps. Carbon arrows have their advantages, but well constructed AL will work very well.

AS SW stated prolly need more front weight, I shoot only 2219's from my 10pt Carbon CLS. But have to use heads that weigh at least 150 grains with aluminum inserts (not carbon inserts) !!
i.e. Spitfire FOC weighs 170grains if you want to shoot mechanicals and Slick Trick Xbow model weighs 150 grains if wish to shoot fixed blades. Excalibur Bolt Cutters weigh in at 150 grains and fly very well also. Good Luck!

Slick Trick also makes a 175g Xbow Trick. I'd go at least 170-175. I love the FOCs(170g).
