My dad still wants to shoot his CVA Optima Pro in .45 cal. Asked me to give him better bullet/sabot and load options. He won't pay $2 per bullet. Too cheap. Lol Won't be shooting past 150 yards Can some of u guys let me know Wat to get him? I was thinking Blackhorn 209 And the Dead center 200 grain bullets. Thanks

Dead center are good bullets I have used them in a 50 but they should be OK in a 45 w/sabot I have been shooting 200 grain Hornady SST with a Harvester blue sabot 45/40 not an expensive bullet and in my smokers it's very accurate

If you want to go with the PR bullets, look at ones heavier than 200gr but under 240gr for that twist. I got the 40cal 250gr to shoot ok but IMO it does better in a faster twist.
220gr Dead Center 215gr QT 235gr QT
For the money its hard to beat the 200gr SST. Never had a problem getting them to shoot with BH209 and they work very well on deer. You might need to change out the sabots but my old Accura 45 with a larger bore prefers the tan sabots supplied with the SST.

With the 200 grain dead centers and 75 grains of Blackhorn I can keep them under a inch at 100 yards with a CVA Optima . For what it's worth .
